Every once in awhile I need to step away from the computer, open up the paint, and do some artistic calisthenics. It just feels so good. Messy. Free. Happy. I found this old sketchbook, covered it with some canvas , added gesso on both sides, wrapped the book, let it dry. Then out came the metallic paint.
The interior cover was a mess so I fussed it up.
Black & white is always a good way to limber up. I wanted to record the knot shape in the model's sweater...might make an interesting pattern.
Needed to make use of my ever growing supply of Benjamin Moore paint samples so I set to work.
I was in a messy mood today, but I like what happened with the amoebic shapes underprinting the line work. That was a great and spontaneous workout. In the future I want to refine this...too tired now though.
